26th Sep 2004 v Llandaff North
The Sports travelled to Llandaff and started the game by attacking from the off. D. Davies and J. Hill led the forwards well with some strong ball carrying, along with
J. Williams, B. Gill & R. Lawler putting in some big tackles. D. Roderick (playing his first game of hooker) led the rest of his front row, B. Adams & A. Wiltshire to secure good ball allowing the
backs astrong platform to attack. The strong Llandaff defence succumbed to a darting and weaving try for B. Gill who added a second try after the home side took a short lead.
The second half started much like the first with both sides attacking strongly looking for that elusive break. The Sports half back pairing of J. Beavis and J. Williams linking well to take the ball up field in the constant support of the forwards allowing R. Lawler to attack on numerous occasions, allowing a trade mark
sniping run from scrum half J Beavis to score a well worked team try. With Llandaff constant attacks, the home team were still a try in front by pulling clear with successfull conversions to retain the lead.
With a good spread ball through backs and forwards linking, R. Case got the ball wide to claim his first try for the club, only to see Llandaff score at the death to claim a well fought home win.
Well done to the Sports for their determination and 100 percnt effort. Congratulations to man of the match R Lawler and a special get well to C Waller and hope to see you soon.
